God
Will Be There
by Wayne Eastman
God is with me all
the time,
But I can seldom
feel it.
Daily toils just
have a way,
Obscure him and
conceal it.
I would like to go somewhere,
That lets his love
surround me.
Troubles there
would fade away,
A place where I
can feel free.
Look in the sky,
Do more than stare
Explore the blue
God will be there.
Go to the shore,
Breathe in the air.
Each wave that breaks,
God will be there.
Attend a church,
For silent prayer
Reveal your thoughts,
God will be there.
News that's
broadcast day and night,
Is always so depressing.
Lives are filled
with too much pain,
Reports are always stressing.
I just have to
turn it off,
Don't need those
facts in my life.
How I long to find
a site,
Conflict free with
no strife.
Walk in the rain,
Without a care.
Raindrops on skin,
God will be there.
Sunrays emerge,
The sky turns bare.
Just feel the warmth,
God will be there.
Rainbows appear,
We stop and stare.
What greater sign,
God will be there. |
I've met people in
my life,
Who think money is divine.
Their whole life
is all about,
Dow Jones and the
bottom line.
Money talk bores
me so much,
Possessions do not matter.
I'll go to my
private spot,
It's calm and free
from chatter.
Hold up your ring,
Into the air,
It has no end,
God will be there.
Ignite a wick,
Survey the flare.
Inside the glow,
God will be there.
Close both your eyes,
Say the Lord's Prayer.
Ask for his love.
God will be there.
Many people seem
to think,
God lives only in
a church.
They can't see him everywhere,
Like a sparrow on
a perch.
I too worship on Sunday,
But my reverence
stays with me.
As I live my life
each day,
I just think,
"How did He ...?"
Look in the sky,
Do more than stare
Explore the blue
God will be there.
Go to the shore,
Breathe in the air.
Each wave that breaks,
God will be there.
Attend a church,
For silent prayer
Reveal your thoughts,
God will be there.
God is with me all
the time,
Now I can always
feel it. |
