MADELINE EASTMAN Happy Birthday, Wayne! From Uncle Ken and Aunt Madeline Eastman. The year 1945 was a good year. I graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Uncle Ken came home from World War II and you were the first child born to Lloyd and Lois Eastman. You were born in August, Uncle Ken came home in September and in October of this year, I will attend my 60th Class Reunion. All of this in the same year. Life was just beginning for all and the next thing we knew, you had two sisters and a few cousins to go along with it. We all gathered at Thanksgiving time and ate too much, and needless to say, we all gathered again at Christmas time to see what Santa left under the tree for each and every one of us. Life goes by so quickly and sometimes it is hard to remember what our lives were really like as we were growing up. I just wish your folks could be here now to wish you a Happy 60th Birthday. We know they would be very proud of you and your family. You have a wonderful wife and four great children. You are now going to find out what it is like to become a senior citizen. With a little luck, you will be able to retire in two more years. Then you can really do what you want. Do all the things you can not find time to do now. The next thing you know, your girls will both be gone, wedding bells will be ringing and you and Gloria will be sailing and traveling the world. Life is sweet and can be as good as you make it. Uncle Ken and I wish you well and hope you will have a wonderful birthday. We love you all.
KATHIE WAGNER How did you meet Wayne? Our family lived next door to Wayne and his family while he was growing up. What is your favorite memory of Wayne? I remember him always smiling and being in a good mood. Whats the nicest thing Wayne ever did for you? I had accumulated a large box full of reels of home movies and Wayne took the time to go through them ... reel by tiny reel ... and put them all on video cassettes. He even added captions and background music. It took two cassettes to hold them all. He also made additional copies for each one of my kids. Then he wouldnt accept any payment. Does that tell you what a great guy he is, or what???? If you saw Wayne today, what would be the first thing you would say to him? You handsome devil, you. If you were available Id make you my own. You know what I mean ... Id adopt you. Ha, ha! Describe Wayne in 5 words or less: True gentleman through and through. When I think of Wayne ... it makes me happy and proud to have been part of his growing up years. Wayne is my friend because ... Im his friend. Ive always wondered if Wayne ... has ever had a mustache. (Another ha, ha!) I wish I had told Wayne ... all or any of the above of which he hadnt been aware before. My birthday wish for Wayne is ... that he enjoys at least sixty more years of good health and happiness with his loved ones.
