VERN BEEBE

How did you meet Wayne? I believe it was in our Junior year of high school.

What is your favorite memory of Wayne? "Cruising" Saginaw, Richie's and Raymond's on the east side, and Mac's and A&W on the west side.

What’s the funniest thing you ever saw Wayne do? I was with him when he spun out in his '53 Olds, we backed into the ditch and hit a culvert. The back bumper was dragging on the ground, so we had to rush home and take the bumper off. We had dates that night and didn't want to be late. It was a great double dating car.

What’s the nicest thing Wayne ever did for you? Just being one of my best "old" friends.

If you saw Wayne today, what would be the first thing you would say to him? I'm glad to see that you are finally graying, too. But at least we still have hair.

Describe Wayne in 5 words or less: Smart, witty, always upbeat.

When I think of Wayne ... I think of the good times during our high school years.

Wayne is my friend because ... we never had a bad time together.

I’ve always wondered if Wayne ... maintained his interest in cars.

My birthday wish for Wayne is ... for many more.
