ROSE MARIE ABBOTT

How did you meet Wayne? His mom and dad have a cabin in Cedarville, Michigan on Big LaSalle Island ... and so do we (two doors over).

What is your favorite memory of Wayne? Before “Lloydie Doydie” tore the old cabin down, Wayne had been up before he closed up. He put a sailboat (Sunfish) inside. He broke the window and just put a garbage bag over the hole and left!

What’s the funniest thing you ever saw Wayne do? The time he left the dog at the cabin and they didn’t miss him until they got to the bridge (the Mackinac Bridge, a 30 minute drive). They had to come all the way back to get him.

What’s the nicest thing Wayne ever did for you? Help us get our things up the hill when we come to stay for 3 months.

If you saw Wayne today, what would be the first thing you would say to him? Nice to see you up here again. How long are you staying?

Describe Wayne in 5 words or less: Nice “kid.”

When I think of Wayne ... easy going.

Wayne is my friend because ... he likes us and maybe thinks of us as second parents.

I’ve always wondered if Wayne ... and family will stay as long as we do someday.

My birthday wish for Wayne is ... you have made it this far. Shoot for 30 more years!
